Day 1-2: Hears One

I started the tour with the Hears One plugs – and honestly, they delivered better than I expected from kilometer one.

The wind protection was unreal. No more exhausting highway drone during the 400km Autobahn stretch to the Alps – just clean, filtered sound that let me focus on the ride. Even at 130kmh, I could still hear my GPS directions crystal clear and catch every word from my riding buddy over the intercom.

Helmet compatibility? Next level. I wore them for nearly 8 hours without once needing to adjust them. Through highway speeds, technical mountain curves, and stop-and-go city traffic – perfect, secure fit that never shifted, never pressured, never failed.

The mountain passes were where they really shined. Complex navigation, engine braking downshifts, approaching traffic – I could hear everything I needed while staying protected from the constant wind buffeting.

And yeah, they looked amazing. The sleek design got compliments at bike meets – premium, understated, and way more professional than anything I've worn before. Not bulky, not obvious – just right.

By the end of day two, I forgot I was even wearing them. That's when you know it's a winner.

Day 3-4: Loop Experience 2

For the middle section, I switched to Loop Experience 2 – and the differences became obvious immediately. The design looked great at the morning briefing, getting compliments from other riders. But once we hit the road, the problems emerged.

The sound felt over-dampened and muffled, like there was a thick filter over everything. What hit me most was how it changed the whole riding experience. My GPS became harder to understand, and I missed important audio cues from my riding partner during the technical Alpine passes. Songs I usually love through my helmet speakers just didn't hit the same – the highs were gone, vocals lost clarity.

At first, they were comfortable enough, but after a few hours of mountain riding, they started pressing in all the wrong ways under my helmet. I kept fidgeting with them during fuel stops, trying to get the right angle – it never really worked.

Loop looked amazing – but that's where it ended. At places where the riding experience is everything, they just got in the way.

Day 5-6: Eargasm

For the final leg, I gave Eargasm their chance to prove the "high-fidelity" marketing. Spoiler: it didn't. Right from the first Autobahn section, the fit felt unstable. During high-speed stretches, they'd shift position – and once they're loose, they're basically useless.

The sound quality was even worse. My intercom conversations became unclear, engine notes sounded compressed, and my overall awareness took a hit. Honestly, I found myself missing the Hears plugs from the first two days – they'd spoiled me with their flawless performance.

By day six, I was mentally exhausted from constantly worrying about the fit. For a brand this hyped, the whole experience felt outdated.
